The 3750 is becoming the standard closet switch in more and more enterprise environments. Capable of doing 10Gig to your distribution the speed of the Cat 3750E will last for at least the next 5-7 years. the 3750E includes POE (power over ethernet) for powering wireless access points or IP telephones.

The 3750 has 48 ports of full duplex 10/100/1000 Gigabit ethernet that desktop user will love. For smaller offices this work horse switch can even act as a collapsed core, doing core routing and distribution duties on a limited basis.

If you don't want to use the 2 TenGig uplinks, this model 3750 comes with a free twin-gig adapter to convert your TenGig interfaces to two One Gig interfaces.  This will allow you to use One Gig uplinks today but be able to grow to TenGig later. (Ask your Cisco rep or VAR for more details and to ensure you get this adapter with your purchase.)

The biggest thing to watch out for is when implementing GRE as the 3750 will not do GRE. For this you will have to move up to the 45xx series or even the 65xx series.

The 3750E is full multi-layer switch and can be stacked to easily expand its port capacity and grow with your organization.
