Wasn't sure if this was a good place to ask this, but here goes. Recently I downloaded some Visio stencils from Router Freak and a few other places so I could do some front and rear elevations of new racks for a job I was at. I would like to put those groups of files into the Visio menu on my pc. Is there any help on the correct file path and location?

Hey Mike,

Depending on your version of Visio and the version of Windows your running, there is usually a "My Shapes"  folder that Visio will create when it gets installed.  This can be found inside your My Documents folder.

 

I you put your visio stencil in the My Shapes folder they will automatically appear in Visio.  Look in Files -> Shapes -> My Shapes

Have any of the stencil symbols used in Visio been adopted by a standards organization (e.g., ANSI, IEEE, ASME, TIA, etc.)? If so, is there a document that you can refer me to that I can use for citation purposes?
